From July 26th to August 9th, Carolina Youth Action Project (CYAP) will be pausing external work and meetings to focus on internal restructuring, rest, and reflection. During this time, CYAP's work will be centered around meeting organizational needs, regrounding in our values and alignment, role transitioning, strategic planning, engagement and funding efforts, and reforming our youth initiatives. Our Core Team will also be working to immerse ourselves in trainings and workshops to build up our political education and development, as well as prepare for a transition into the next phase of our campaign work.

In April of 2020, in order to prioritize the health and wellness of our youth and team, CYAP paused all operations. This is a pause, in a way, but not the same as the pause we took in the past. While we are taking a step back from external work, the Core Team will still be meeting, planning, and working. In order to be able to show up fully in future work, it became clear that a month of prioritizing the needs of CYAP was a necessity. The foundation of our organization needs to be strong in order to stand in solidarity, community, and collaboration down the road.

This month of reflection has been a hopeful dream for the Core Team for some time, and we are excited to dive into an ever-growing task list of things to tackle together in this time frame! Our goal is to come back to work in the fall with an even greater backing to build power among girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth.

Come August 9th, we will return to office to respond to any emails sent during this time and resume our usual operations. We appreciate the love, grace, and support of our community. ❤️
