Help Princess Raise $200 for CYAP

I found my place in liberation work and social justice movements within Southerners On New Ground. There, I found a political home and a place to push the limits of my imagination around what being free means to me and what being free could look like. Being in community with other likeminded folks doing abolitionist work made me feel much less isolated and alone, which is something I help facilitate in every CYAP space I’m a part of.

I am trying to take the lessons and love that I have had access to and bring them to a younger generation. I want the youth that come through CYAP’s initiatives and programming to feel free to explore the possibilities of a world without cages. A world free from fear. To explore what it could mean to take up the torch of movement work. To fight to abolish the systems that oppress our communities in newer, more expansive, more creative ways than we ever could.

We help youth build sturdy foundations of political education that are grounded in the richly Black, southern history of organizing efforts globally and within this country. This organization has been earnestly dedicated to this work for years and we’re trying to get bigger and better to be able to do more for the youth and broaden our reach.

We need community support to help bolster the ways we show up for youth. Grassroots organizations like CYAP survive off of the donations of our community. In this moment, what can help us at CYAP continue to feed, nurture, and ignite the youth in our communities is backing from our people. Consider donating to the fund the future that we all desperately need. Consider investing in this organization as we diligently invest in our youth.

In deep appreciation,

Kenya Cummings
