Be an Organizing Fellow with Youth Artists in Action

Applications for the organizing fellowship are closed for the 2017-2018 year.

YAA is a youth leadership development program that brings together political education and arts education. This year's cohorts will all focus on a specific topic regarding prisons and policing in the United States. Each cohort will engage in workshops, trainings, and discussions and develop their own arts-based projects related to their particular area of focus. Cohort members will gain experience with community organization, facilitation, project planning, social justice issues, and creating different forms of art.

Fellows will work alongside the Lead Organizer to research relevant topics, develop curriculum, facilitate programming, support the needs of young people, and help participants to complete their arts-based projects.

Volunteer at Camp

Applications are now available to volunteer at Girls Rock Charleston Summer Camp 2017. Volunteers at rock camp are there to support, elevate, and encourage the youth at camp as well as support their fellow volunteers. There are volunteer opportunities for folks with and without music experience. We need counselors, band coaches, instrument instructors, roadies, workshop and art project leaders, and volunteers to help with food prep, the showcase, and more! Volunteer positions at camp are open to women (trans and cis), trans and gender non-conforming folks. Cisgendered men are encouraged to volunteer on our food team and during load-in and load-out days. Contact us at volunteer@girlsrockcharleston.org for more info.

Applications are currently closed. Please check back in the spring or sign up for our newsletter!
