Our COVID19 Guidelines and Boundaries

Last updated April 2022

In early 2020, the Core Team met to discuss the impact the pandemic had on our mental health and capacity, ultimately leading to us announcing that we would be pausing operations and closing our office for a month.

"We learned that nearly all of our people were feeling unmotivated, isolated, and overwhelmed. Folks shared that they had been struggling with online learning, rigid expectations around school work, loss of income, increased feelings of panic and anxiety, housing insecurity, health concerns, and caring for loved ones."

Navigating the work and the world during a pandemic will always be an ongoing process. We've recently updated our COVID19 guidelines with how we'll be proceeding with in-person events and gatherings, youth programming, and volunteers.

At this time, CYAP will not be hosting in-person events. We are open to attending in-person events and gatherings hosted by others, however we want to be intentional about the safety of our community and our staff. We have crafted the following list of requirements and preferences for attending in-person events.

Before attending an event we are invited to, Core Team will consider the following:

Required for us to consider attending in-person gatherings:

  • Masks

  • Outdoors & able to be 6ft apart from one another

  • Hand sanitizer / wipes available

  • No physical contact necessary

Preferences for attending in-person gatherings:

  • Accessible to folks at home via livestream / online attendance option*

  • Capped attendance

  • No food & drink

  • No sharing equipment (ex. Microphones at panels)

  • Access to handwashing

  • Attendees get tested 3 days before

  • Show a vaccination card / negative test to enter

*If you're contacting D’Ondra to invite her to any events, this is a requirement.

We will be updating this post as we solidify the rest of our guidelines. Check back often for more updates!
